if youre up to date on your cutting-edge physics youll notice there is more and more to suggest the connectedness of everything, consciousness effecting reality, and maybe even the soul and afterlife.
the things we are learning now suggest there is still a ton we are just beginning to understand. for starters:
More is unknown than is known. We know how much dark energy there is because we know how it affects the Universe's expansion. Other than that, it is a complete mystery. But it is an important mystery. It turns out that roughly 70% of the Universe is dark energy. Dark matter makes up about 25%. The rest - everything on Earth, everything ever observed with all of our instruments, all normal matter - adds up to less than 5% of the Universe. Come to think of it, maybe it shouldn't be called "normal" matter at all, since it is such a small fraction of the Universe.
crazy huh?
what do you think about this? suppose for a moment that mind over matter is real. there are a lot of good cases for this (maybe someone will find a good one for me, i dont feel like looking yet). now we do know that on the quantum level, anything and everything is possible. if you dont know this, watch a documentary. i suggest 'the elegant universe'. so with everything being "possible" on the most fundamental level of reality, and our minds being capable of effecting reality, whats stopping us from making this world like a lucid dream?

I like you, please stick around.
I watched an interesting documentary called "Down the Rabbit Hole. It had a lot of good info on quantum physics, but digressed into a bunch of donkey balls extending from quantum superposition/collapsing waveform theories. A brief explanation; this relates to the famous, and often misinterpreted "Shroedingers Cat", thought experiment, and basically states that light acts like both a particle and a wave until it is observed, once observed, the results of the observation will show it has acted as one or the other. The concept that observation changes the nature of matter has endless potential to be expanded on and all kinds of mumbo jumbo theories have sprung from this.
Paired quantum state particles, are another example, but my knowledge is lacking so I will leave that one alone. But aside from these two instances, things generally work along fairly predictable lines. This is not to say that I am a fan of "black box" physics where only the observable results of physical interactions between particles are considered relevant, I dig the whole string theory bit, and am slowly digesting what I have read to date, it is pretty heavy stuff, and I am constantly going back through chapters of the books I have read as some new bit of understanding dawns on me.
I believed rather strongly in universal consciousness for about a year or two, until the study that had influenced me was proven to be fraudulent, assholes. It stated that even people who had no knowledge of a catastrophe, IE; 9/11, an earthquake, etc, showed stress related physiological changes at about the same time the incident was happening. Serves me right for getting my info from A.M. radio, turns out they took normal stress reactions felt by the subjects to be relevant, again, assholes.
But, I am not entirely without crackpot theories of my own. Given that parallel universes exist, you may be just a quantum cunthair away, along one of the 9 dimensions matter exists in (again, string theory) from another "you" doing something very similar, but perhaps slightly different, maybe a little ahead, maybe a little behind. Perhaps the closeness of several you's allows for some bleed over, your brain may assume the quantum state of a very "like" you, a little farther down his/her timeline, and suddenly you are acting like something that is going to happen already has, like humming a song in your head before it comes on the radio.
For me to consider something like this, it needs to leave out the whole "power of conscious intention" bit, and treat phenomenon as the result of the physical and quantum nature of the universe. If we put ourselves at the center of things as humans soooo love to do, we are assuming that consciousness is something distinct from physics, in my opinion it is not.
As for dark matter, dark energy, and the resulting cosmological constant that is prying the universe apart, good stuff!! Not up on it enough to start forming theories of my own, but it is like high grade fertilizer for the garden of the mind. I read a neat bit in Sci-Am a few months ago that stated outlying reaches of the universe are distorted in ways that imply the presence of large gravity wells beyond the event horizon of the big bang, we are not alone, and neither, apparently, is the universe.
