I'm not gonna do all the work of getting new members. You guys are slackers.

Well dont look at me. Im just here to make witty remarks and talk about music.

That's fine and dandy but there's a lot of forums... When I joined totse first in 03, most of the users were just there to either post "witty" things or see other people do so, and so the specialist forums were usually neglected, or populated by a handful of boring assholes.

But more members also = more witty/funny comments for you to enjoy, and more music to discuss plus more people to discuss it with.

Yes, but how can we get more traffic in here?

Tagging. I know some taggers. I know that sounds lame and childish or whatever but it's free advertising basically. I also thought of joining every science forum I could find and advertising on them. There's also high schools and colleges, which bring a lot of annoying people but some of them may be smart and useful.

I may be willing to put some money into this effort. I'm just really bored lately and I think it would be interesting to see what becomes of this site if there's a lot more members. But I also want professionals of various types, various fields.

This idea sounds promising dude, want to start up some kind of operation? Get it done properly, not just some proposed shit which never happens. If you need help then you can rally up our current Totseans and we can get on it.

Well, we have the &T Propaganda to work with, and I have been considering the idea of making some stencils, although don't know how effective they would be.

Despite the low traffic of the site anymore, I feel as though the drawball project brought a little attention to &T.info.

Every time that I sign on, it seems as though the number of "Active Members" is steadily rising.

Remember that we also need content for these attracted members to read, or they won't stay. There's nothing worse than self-promotion, only to discover that when the person you attracted visits the site - it's full of shit. I know we have a lot of content already, but we could do with some more guides being written before any major advertising happens.

Think about it - if a news company somehow managed to land on our site, would they click around and find nothing then leave, or would they stumble onto an epic tutorial on how to make a bomb out of household items?

We have to consider how likely it is to happen. If it's not likely, we need to make it more likely. Only then, should we do some MAJOR advertising. Until this point, we should continue with little projects because every little bit helps.

Brb got some work to do. :)

Listen up people. I know we have a long road ahead of us and we do need some more members, but we also need a lot of other stuff beforehand. This is including a working main site which is the most important thing on the list, and a whole load of other stuff which Dfg has written down in his big checklist.

Let's not get ahead of ourselves. Be patient, and advertise at exactly the right time for the best effects.

How about a progressive series of posters showing dead kittens and the statement that unless people join Totse more will be gassed with chlorine.

    The tagline could be:

"Do we need to post the f***ing videos?"

I'm not going to join in any group effort and if there is one, you must leave out discussion of tagging or other illegal activities. I don't want to work with people I've never met in person. What I can do to bring more members is stuff I'd do on my own, unless other people want to use my ideas so that I can be extra lazy. It would be best if other people did the online advertising since my connection is like 20KB per second at most.

I'd be willing to put in a few hours a week writing content for the Backyard Ballistics forum, if it would help attract new members.

Spectral will be able to better blend in with more members, and he'll be able to do bigger spam attacks and cause more mischief of other types. But it also means other people can blend in easier. When someone uses something on this site to do a crime or something else, it'll be harder to figure out who it was. More members also means more knowledge, more power for people using the site.

LordWorm, you've been adding some interesting stuff to BB. Keep it up and even more knowledgeable posters will probably start contributing too. :D

We would have more members if the admins weren't banning contributing members like Big Bear +POZ+. Shortly before he was perma banned due to homophobia, he confided in me that he had convinced several hundered members of an AIDS support forum to join Totse, I can only guess after his unfair treatment he changed his mind.

You better believe it, buster. Then again, I've already bothered most of your new ones and drove them away from here before they could even begin to get friendly with a community which supports and encourages the stifling of freedom of expression, and a community who supports the abuse of member accounts just because they don't like what they read. All I do is let them know how if I see them posting here they are definitely going to be my next hobby, and they fuck right off back to Zoklet or wherever they came from.

That's a lame idea, no one likes spam - it says it in the Totse FAQ. Plus, it's shitty and unprofessional.
