The queues are long, every where you look there is destruction. Houses that were built to withstand earthquakes are crashed into small bits of timber. The cars that once travelled from point a to b are gone. It seems that the whole world just went though a washing machine cycle. Amidst this chaos life still goes on.
You don't see mob of angry people chanting anti-government slogans, you don't see people running around and stealing things and you don't see people just giving up. What you do see is a nation who is capable of surviving anything, you see people who remain calm and still follow rules. You see long queues at petrol station but no one breaks the line even though they're waiting for days.
If this type of disaster happened in Pakistan, we would definitely see mass killing and looting. Even American's can't control themselves, I remember the time when power went out in major cities of America, the media was crying and there were some looting here and there. Just imagine getting hit like that, you're left with nothing but a stove and small gas cylinder. Your house is gone, your family is killed. A person might go insane because of it, but not Japanese. The simple act of surviving and living is enough for them.
Normally, I wouldn't be that emotional but come on these people are amazing. I haven't seen a nation that inspires others. If there is some GOD or some entity looking at this fucked up world, HE FUCKING SHOULD HELP THE JAPS!.
I am going to learn more about them in coming weeks, I might even a do a thread by thread segment about them. These people are fascinating.

Really? What would be the cause? Some conflict?
And:
So hot. Where did you get this?
Have you looked at what they have traded for this "social security"?
As in living on an island that gets shaken and stirred to ruins every couple decades or as in political freedoms etc?
If the latter:
PATRIOT ACT

At least the Japanese got something in return: their government is capable of protecting it's own people from the aftermath of a disaster.
Also, AFAIK, Japan is pretty good when looking at political and personal liberties. It's just that they actually take their politeness and social norms serious. They see compliance as a good thing, they're raised by "The nail that sticks out gets hammered down." And it works extremely well for them. I'm not saying we all need to become like the Japanese, but we sure can learn a thing or two from them. Discipline, for starters.
Just goes to show. You aren't what you own.
Suck more jap Dfg.
All that censored jap porn has gone to your head.

The japanese are probably the most unemotional group of people on the planet, and severely repressed culturally, that's probably why they're doing so well right now.
That's truly amazing, what about the rest of japan however?
They've also got slitty eyes
