I got it on sale for a little less than €900 and I really, really, really like it. Asus makes some amazing machines, let me tell you that. It stays cool, no matter how hard I push it, and I can run just about any decent application / game without hanging, stuttering or having to compromise on settings.

The funny thing is, 90% of the time, a laptop of half it's specs and price would do just fine. But the 10 % of time I wanna push it, I'm really glad I spent the extra bucks.

Asus does manufacturer solid desktops too. I picked up a desktop over a year ago [when the GTX 260 was godly] and after tampering with the overclocking menu in the bios, the PC hasn't had a hardware issue till this date.

I had a Toshiba laptop priced at $700 and had to sell it because of some financial issues. It was really nice and the specs were great except for the tiny screen.

A piece of shit that cannot play movies without either humming so loudly that it become pointless to play them, or freezing from having to do too much.

The only two working laptops I currently have are a PowerBook Duo 210, and an NEC with a 486 running 98.

Dude, I have the exact same laptop! Had it for like 5 years. Maybe more...

It's still going strong, except for the battery life.

HP 6735s and it's most amazing feature it can overheat if you do anything more strenuous the streaming video...

I really need to reapply the thermal paste and clean off the old stuff but its such a pain in the arse to disassemble that I really do not want to.
