Fifteen protesters were injured, one of them severely, at the demonstrations during the general strike on Wednesday.
The condition of protester 31-year old Ioannis Kafkas clubbed by the riot police during Wednesday’s protest march remains critical. The 31-year old male underwent head surgery lasting many hours and was subsequently transferred to the Nicea hospital’s emergency care unit in a deep coma.
According to the doctors attending on him, the young man should remain in medical induced coma for at least a week as his recovery is as of yet uncertain.
