Selling drugs is a very proffitable venture, however, you do not want to be doing that.

I found basic stationary, food and magazines would sell the best / safest. I would buy cheap pens and pencils at the weekend and then do them at a 10% markup. No pen = detention. Captive market with a distress purchase really, and all the kids were chuffed as I still sold the pens for less than a teacher would.

Food was bags of chrisps and pies - buy a mutli pack of chrisps or pies and sell them to fat kids.

Magazines - would get these for free from the regional news retailers recycling skip. Porn mags, commics, music, boxing - fuck loads of them.

Shit that wont get you in jail and people will not rob you unless robbing people is common at school these days.

My school was one of the "healthy" ones in the UK. Thankfully that opened up a ripe market for fizzy drinks, chocolate, gum and cigarettes. Best thing is to buy items in offers and sell them for ~30% more. For example I would buy 2 x 6 can packs of Coke for £2.00 and sell each one for 70p, making about 50p per can and £5+ per 12 cans sold.

Basic economics, Jeffrey. I wouldn't sell explosives. Just don't.
Also, keep your mouth shut when it comes to where you buy your produce from. The last thing you want are people talking and competition.

I steal books and sell them for half price. Everyone basically comes to me if they want books. I don't tell anyone how I get them, which doesn't really bother people, and doesn't let anyone know that what I'm doing is illegal so no snitches can snitch. You'd be amazed at how expensive some of these books are. You can get up to £300 a week from doing this.

Well, when I went to post 11 school in the UK, you had to have at least a pen. Normally, you should have had a pen, pencil, calculator, 6" / 15cm ruler with both measurements on it and erasure.

If you did not have the pen and could not borrow one or buy one, you got detention. I had started off selling pens and pencils from betting shops, they would let kids in to 'get a pen for school' and I would grab a few. Same with catalouge shops - go in, look through the catalouges, nab a few pens or pencils.

However, the teachers would notice if kids we writing with those types of pens or pencils and take the piss out of them. I used to buy pencils 100/£ and pens 50/£ .

Where i said above I would market at +10%, I meant 1000%, typoed. Pencil costs 1p, sell for at least 10p. Pen costs 2p, sell for at least 20p. Ecomics in pens and pencils stacking up yet?

As kids started buying pens from other kids so they did not have an obv. bookies or catalouge shop pen or pencil, I would buy in the cheap pens from a shop I would allways pass on a Saturday morning as I helped my Ma with the shopping.

Always remember - people will pay a lot more than something is worth if it is worth more to them at the time. I do not think I would have done 1/2 hours detention if some one had payed me 20p - so I can understand why some kids paid 20p or more for a pen.

First lesson of the school sales man - target the weak - those that forget things and need to buy them and the fat and their problem eating - and ensure they have the funds to pay.

The market is there, all you are doing is providing a service within it. Chumps dont buy pens and pencils at the weekend or half a dozen pies on the way to school. Winners do.

Selling is easy if you know a product will sell. You can then set the price. Take the piss and let people bartar you down. If a person really wants to buy it, they will, otherwise, just convince them that they have decided to buy it or that it is the only logical thing to do.

    This is how you trade.

Holy shit, that could work....to the Dive-mobile!

Would that usually be restricted to past issues, or can you expect to find new editions?

I guess it depends on your school and/or what the people at your school want to buy.
When I was in high school there already was a pretty big black market, mostly drugs. Though if you don't want to risk selling illegal drugs at school, cigarettes would be the best option. I used to bring packs to school and sell cigs for 50 cents to a dollar a piece. Lots of profit there.

Unless your school are nazis...you can snag a couple of the expensive graphing calculators, no problem. Ha. Not exactly what you asked, but along those lines.

Remember: your parents, grandparents, and your money goes into buying these things.

Thats is why theft for resale in such instences is wrong; you must buy low and sell high. The market and how you exploit it is how to make money. Buy low. Sell high. Stealing from an educational eshtablishment, no matter your mark up on resale, is wrong. It may show a short term proffit, but in the long term, you are robbing yourself.

I used to steal those paper punchers (that make the holes for files) from the staff room and sell them to classmates for about $5. Sometimes I'd randomly steal one from another student and sell it on. Despite how small my school was, no one ever seemed to join the dots xD

This thread makes me feel bad about stealing keyboards and mice from the computers at school. I guess it's not as bad as my friend who once broke into all the computers and stole RAM from every single one of them

Lol. I helped myself to some mice, headsets and speakers. The computers were a bit too crap to bother with opening them up.
  • edited September 2011
Wow, your school had headsets? That's pretty awesome man, although I imagine that they got wrecked quite a bit. I also took some cables and stuff, and sold them on or gave them away as I had no need for them. The keyboards and mice which I retrieved all broke as well  They sucked so hard.

I used to sell explosives to these 3 kids in particular, until I found out one of the kids parents was a cop. His story was "she knows you sell them to me, but she doesn't mind." I almost fucking lost it right there and then.

Since then, I haven't really sold much.

A black market isnt a secret place people go - its an understanding that if certain things are needed, one knows how to acquire them on anothers behalf.

Let people know that 'you know a guy' who can get things; and if they want something to talk to you and you can then 'ask the guy you know' and see what he says.

The best way is when you a few friends "all know a guy" and sort it out like that.

You dont do anything illegal at all, you're scared of it and you wouldnt ever dream of doing such things - you just happen to have this acquaintance who can hook people up with things and want to help a friend (who wants to buy something) out.

I don't know about anybody else's school, but our school district has rules against selling anything (be it legal or not) on school grounds. It's not the most enforced rule, but still there's a potential for trouble.

In my area, the only thing that would really be profitable is selling drugs. Selling drugs at school is stupid, so you meet all your customers there and get their numbers and meet them after school is out. That means preferably not near school, but in my experience, the kids with the most money don't have any opportunity to buy shit other than at school (strict parents and whatnot). So for taking the risk, they will pay extra. I've seen some ridiculously good deals on the sellers part (a quarter ounce of weed sold for $30 extra just because the kid got it sold to him either at school or had the dealer drive him from school at lunch to sell it). Make sure if you sell drugs to kids at school, that they don't take that shit at school! That's how you get caught. I can't even count how many times I'd tell kids, "do not pop these pills until you go home!" only to see them in 4th period fucked out of their gourd. Know your customers and make sure they aren't a liability. Sometimes risk isn't worth the reward.

And I always made a habit out of selling drugs at the VERY beginning of the day. Get it off your hands fast, in a place where cameras won't notice you. That does not mean the bathroom. If you get ratted on, them saying we went to this bathroom at this time (with video evidence) is enough to get you caught. Do it in a large crowd right as everyone's getting off the bus/mingling before class.

Other potentially good things to sell, pipes/paraphernalia, bootleg dvds (never seen it sold at school before but hey, who knows), booze, cigarettes, weed seeds (I haven't seen anyone buy those since highschool lol), knives/brass knuckles.

If your smart enough, you could also do peoples work for money. I've done this before, only on simple assignments that I knew would take all of 10 minutes to get done.

And final note, do not sell explosives. That's not smart at all.

I sold cans of coke at my school, made a decent profit over the years but it really fucked your back carrying them round untill lunch.
The canteen sold them for $1.70, most corner stores sold them for $1.10, buying a 24 pack on special and selling them for £1 you could make roughly $11 profit.

People in the metal work classes often used to bodge up cheep lockpicks to get into some of the classes, they went like hotcakes in winter as nobody liked to be standing outside in the rain waiting for the teacher to turn up to let us in.

Smokes were also good for making a profit, since most school kids can't afford enough for a full pack of smokes. People would buy a pack of 20 for about $8, and then sell them on at $1 each.

We used to have skeleton keys floating around at our old school which would obviously open every classroom door in the school. People used to steal them all the time, and I reckon they could be sold for a few bob to some snotty little chav.

if you suck at education and have failing grades, sure -- go ahead and deal drugs on campus... marijuana -- marijuana, no doubt, is the biggest shock wave on campus in many parts of america.
unless you want to be arrested under federal charges -- keep explosives out of school and deal that stuff after school.

edit: dealing explosives illegally in america is still a federal charge, but i can imagine there being less chances of getting caught off campus then on campus.
