Haha, yeah, I remember CHILD PORN being the biggest phrase in tag search.

^^I thought it started on zoklet, and thus is part of zoklet faggotry, which seems like a good thing to outlaw.

Thats my point. He is threatening to get my IP and ban me for something that has never been against the rules (even on zoklet) that is very common for someone to do. I think he just has a twig up his ass.

Nope I used to do it on totse too, and even if it wasn't why ban it? totse is all about free speech and the words "child porn" are not illegal, hence hwy the should be banned.

Actually it isn't against the rules. I did this on Zoklet for ages and I still do it here from time to time. Google doesn't index using tags. They're mostly useless from that point of view. No one can be infracted NOR banned for it. However, if the section mod requests, you should at least keep this tag to SG and HB sections.

He might be trying to protect Totse.

Even if he wants to ban or infract, everything is on hold. The infraction list/ban points etc. I decided to delay it a bit to keep users/mods time to get a feel for it. Once they learn how to moderate without banning power, they will rely on it less.

Also, the section rules are good for the time being, BUT all of this rules will be combined into one rule book with sections for each forum. In this way, mods can't make up rules and we will have a community approved rule list for everyone. Admin to user. No exceptions.

Yeah, I'm sure frostbyte is just trying to protect the site, and not hammer on users. No need to start up mod hate so soon in the game.

I've just been doing it for the hell of it, tagging my threads with how to make a bomb to.

Protect it from what? The internet police? It's not like I was posting child porn. I simply tagged the thread with "child porn" just as I did this one. Which does nothing but adds lulz to a user who finds it funny.

If fr0st_byte sets the rules and guidelines for his forum (which all moderators should do if they haven't already or start working on it) and that is a no-go then so be it. Site wide it isn't against the rules of course but fr0st_byte obviously wants to focus on quality in BLTC instead of shenanigans. We've all seen how crazy BLTC got back in the old days. I remember the quality and one of the reasons I left was because of the shenanigans, flame wars, and spam amongst other things.

I tag my threads with dfg, I want to use child porn but I don't think it will give a good example for new users to follow. Plus, I use tags for indexing purposes. Makes it easier for me to point users to all my threads with the help of a single tag.

try Dfg, child porn on Zoklet.

I actually support this, no matter how many guidelines we create, they will always be general. With section based guidelines users will know the limits and behave and hence increase the quality of that section.

Thats fine if he sets the rules. But not asking me to stop, telling me he is going to IP ban me for something I was never told not to do and isn't against the rules is a bit ridiculous.

I was trying to protect the site from unwanted attention from people who can get a site shut down. Anything having to do with child porn draws bad attention.

But I was just informed that the CP tags do not show up on google or anything, so I guess it's fine.

But I mean whats the point in tagging a thread with child porn?

If they're not indexed by Google, is there any point in keeping the tags?

I'm pretty sure nobody really uses them for serious purposes.
