Call to all totseans: google bombing totse

I keep seeing the idea popping up in random threads about google bombing totse to get us some attention. However, the idea always fades away within a few posts from there being no coordinated effort. 4chan is always getting attention for "hacking" google trends so why cant we?

Well, here's an attempt at coordination.
First, we need to agree on what we're going to mass search. If several people are helping we can easily do more than one.
"totse.info: &T is back"
"totse.info: read, know do"
or even simply just "totse.info"

Resources:
http://refreshthing.com/ use it to refresh your search (google will supposedly block it if you set it to less than 5 seconds.)
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/115/ set this also to 5 seconds. (10 if your internet is slow)

Hopefully this can jumpstart the effort. I'll update this thread with any useful info as it appears.

Other things you can do to help the cause

Start linking other websites to totse.
trx100 wrote: »
Google Boming IS linking to the site from different sites. The idea is to point as many links to the site as possible with the correct keywords associated to it. In our case, you'd spam links everywhere with keywords like "bombs, night ops, porn" etc in the links.

This influences Google searches, so that when someone searches for porn or bombs, Totse appears on top of the page.

Googlebombing isn't just about Influencing google trends by repeatedly searching for Totse, but it serves it's purpose.

Web of Trust

Everyone needs to add Web of Trust to firefox and then give this site a positive rating. As it is I'm probably the only person to do so. We needs LOTS of people to do it and leave comments so we get a green/positive rating from web of trust.

While you're at it, it's best if everyone links Totse.info from their blogs. I already link whatever I post on my blog to a thread on Totse. It's like whatever thread I post gets on my blog [reviews etc] and from there on to twitter. People visit my blog and then check out the links at the bottom and then they are liked to Totse.

This works but I am still working on it and I get 17+ users after each post. And they're unique thanks to twitter. So, while Google bombing is good, I think we should start linking Totse everywhere as well.

I can't Google bomb because my region is different but I can link to places.

It's not about bombing google, it's about googling "bomb."

You guys know what I mean....

... Now if we could just infiltrate every explosives related forum on the web again, we'd be in business.....

Use totse as a reference, much like DFG said. That's what counts. Build up enough info on this site, then go to other sites using it as a factual reference. Then people will get here by just googling anything.

You people must have not been on totse if you don't know the exact google search that brought the greatest portion of fresh blood in: "How to make bombs."

Lure in the kidiots, convert them into fiends for knowledge. That was the metabolic process which fueled totse.

100% correct. most of our users got here searching those terms. I don't know how to make a bomb or I would do it myself.

The rep system would make the site seem legit to people who use the service. Personally I avoid sites that don't have the green symbol. I knew this site was ok otherwise I would have been a lot more wary.

EDIT: Never mind you have to have 30 posts to create a thread. And their rules are kind of strict. Hmm, maybe we should turn them to here. IONO :o:confused:
It might lead to a newfag flood.

Also, we need to add a link to Wikipedia as a "mirror" of the original &T's text files/forum (sans original posts) with several of the original active members.
I'd do it myself, but I don't understand wikipedia editing. Pretty stupid of me, I know. :(

I'm pretty sure that shit hasn't worked since like 08.

Yeah, I'm really not sure how Google works any more. That said, it might affect other search engines. Still pretty lulzy anyway, the last one says "Kill the president" :D

I had completely forgot about this thread until I sat down and saw my refresher still refreshing. It's been going since shortly after this thread started.

    We're link #3
    http://www.google.com/search?q=totse&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a

    #6 still

Yeah, still 6 for me. Try clearing your cookies and shit, they influence individuals search pages.

Yeah, we're definitely getting somewhere. It's cool to see some progression through the ranks. And we're above the other totse now as well :D

    Suckers.

Still, I'd like to point out Wikpedia as a possible reference.

We've been trying to get Wikipedia to link to us for a while now. They always delete the link. There's another thread here somewhere asking a load of us to post in the TOTSE talk section on Wikipedia that Totse.info is a legitimate replacement.

Well thanks for informing me. I've always though that a mirror of the site wouldn't need convincing, so long as it had the same site's info. It's a grey area as to whether we are a mirror, as we have the famous text files (so far as I know). We just don't have all the old posts.

Yeah. If you have a Wikipedia account, add a note to the bottom of the totse talk page confirming that we are legit.

Also, as well as Google - Who is focusing on OTHER search engines as well? Bing search for "totse" or even "totse.info" brings up NOTHING related to us.

As soon as I get home I'll start bombing Bing Yahoo and Ask. We are number three in the Google searches now. That's pretty damn good imo. Let's be the same or better on the other searches.

I'm searching "totse.info: &T is back" on bing.

Alright, so how about getting links pointing to this place? We need links to TOTSE on as many relevant forums/websites as possible.

If you search totse on bing we don't show up. If you search totse.info, we're #3, below zoklet. :/ I've got 5 tabs refreshing every 10 seconds.

We are now in the first page of the most popular search engines I'm aware of. I'm still refreshing bing, yahoo, and alta vista with several searches. I think its working.

Alright, I've been trying to edit the totse wiki page, but the wikifags (Specifically somebody named 'Cameron Scott', is constantly reverting ALL of our edits. He specifically stated that wikipedia is not interested in the truth, but only references and sources.

So I added several sources to the jenkem mention that was deleted, and reverted his shit. He's still doing it, apparently my sources aren't good enough.

Everybody, go to the totse wiki page and revert any changes he makes. This guy is also why nearly all of the links are dead and remain un-updated.

He actually stated that Wikipedia isn't interested in the truth? What a cornhole.

We need to constantly change this shit.
