Highly Rated Games that You just couldn't get Into

Even though it was the first game for my PS3, GTA IV would have to be a big game that I didn't really get into. The graphics were an amazing jump from the PS2 and the storyline was alright, but I just couldn't help feeling like I had played it before as it was the same old GTA formula, and a lot of detail that was in GTA San Andreas was taken out.

How about you? What was a game you've played that got high reviews and recommendations, yet you didn't really get into?

I agree with you on the sports games, but I found Assassins Creed 1 horribly repetitive and boring. The second one was alright though.

    Assassin's Creed and GTAIV, definitely.

Bioshock didn't interest me as much as I thought, but that might have just been because I didn't play it for long.

    The Reach beta was abysmal.

And I couldn't get in to Project Gotham Racing or Forza. Gran Turismo was great, but the former two were just not my taste.

Halo Wars an RTS game? Next you'll claim Doom is a military simulator , states (and facepalms) Rolf.

Rolf would make a long list, but here is a few popular games/series Rolf tried, but could never get interested in: World of Warcraft, Guitar Hero, Gears of War, any Halo game after the original, Final Fantasy, any other homoerotic japanese crap (except oldschool mario games and star fox 64 and F-Zero X... but thats about it), Super Smash Bros, Borderlands, Any MMORPG that isn't pre-cu SWG or old DAoC, Mirror's Edge, Fable, Rolf could go on and on and on... because most video games suck, states Rolf.

Bad Company 2 for me. I felt that the maps were simply too big unless you were in a vehicle, a sniper or wanted to camp at an objective, but thats boring.

I know, I know. It's supposed to be really good and all that, but I dunno. I've never really gotten into RTS. I'm more of an FPS guy.

Maybe I'll give it a chance though.

BFBC2 was an amazing game! I actually loved it. The storyline, the weapons, the AI, the graphics... Everything. I was actually a little sad when the chopper pilot gets shot down :(

I played it for a bit, I felt (that like the original Bad Company) it was dumbed down too much from the mainstream Battlefield series. That and the maps were too short. Thankfully Rolf has a continuing love affair with the ArmA series.

Bioshock. I played some of it, but killing people and doing fetch quests all game is terrible.:o i think review critics were too generous for bioshocks rating. The graphics not going to lie, are good, but the fetch quests all game is really limiting it.

It technically is an RTS. If it's not then what would you call it. Sure it's not as good as AOE or starcraft but it is an RTS.

It's not an RTS, it's been dumbed down so much for the console that the "Strategy" part has been completely removed, states Rolf. Rolf suggests calling it "RTS"... "Real Time Shit".

Rolf likes not much the Starcrafts either, though Age of Empires is still brilliant.. for what it is. Rolf suggests to thou the first Supreme Commander game, Sins of a Solar Empire and the Total War (especially Rome and Medieval II) series, listen to Rolf, for Rolf is brilliant.

This for me, too. I installed it, played it about twice, and then didn't bother again. It seems to actually have no real storyline, just a bunch of overrated graphics that aren't actually that good any more anyway.

Rome total war is awesome I actually just got it a few weeks ago. I'm not denying that it was an extremely dumbed down version of an rts but theres not really any other category you can put it in.

Rolf is pretty sure having "Johto" as a location pretty much classifies you as a nerd, though you should not care, for caring is for pussies, not nerds.

Rolf agrees though, WoW is hardly a nerd game, nerds tend to have intelligence, none is needed to be successful in the simple MMORPG known as World of Warcraft. The shining beacon of virgins, bored (and very ugly, the less ugly ones do porn) housewives, and obsessive clingy 40 something women looking for 12 year old boyfriends, although #3 can sometimes also be a #1 or a #2, states Rolf.

Rolf knows of a mutant alien WoW addict, who, was, in fact, not chinese. Said mutant alien WoW addict is the younger brother of Rolf who played WoW for about four years for 12 hours a day, at least now he is only addicted to Call of Duty. Rolf states that WoW is like cocaine, except that it is even more detrimental to your health and is less likely to get you laid, therefore, Cocaine > WoW.

God of war got retarded as soon as you realized it all came down to how fast you could push a button. That really was all there was too any god of war game. No actual skill needed just be good at button mashing.

I quite like Rolfs persona. If you decipher it, he actually has something interesting to say, kind of like brandon.

I agree with you guys on WoW. I did the 7 day trial, but only played about 1 hour before I got bored. It would be cool to play if you had a lot of friends on it, but even then I wouldn't pay a monthly subscription for a game like that.

They could rerelease COD4 simply with better graphics and it'd still be better than MW2 or Black Ops.

The other nice thing about COD is people actually die when shot. I got so tired in halo of unloading a full clip on someone and there still alive.
