I just realized, you can get pretty much any type of machine gun if you have the CAD drawings. SO...
I found this website which has a bunch of CAD models for guns. Some of them you need to pay for, but some are free. I'm sure there are plenty of other sites that have gun CAD models.
So now all you need to do is commission DIFFERENT shops to machine the parts out of high carbon steel. Say an original replacement part for your gun costs way too much and you'd like to just get one made. It'll cost maybe 200 per big part, 100 per medium, and 50 for the small things (hammer, trigger etc). It isn't cheap, but it will certainly be cheaper than buying one. Instead of $17k for a Thompson you'll pay maybe 1k, and it'll be made out of modern, strong, quality metals. Most importantly, the ATF won't have you on file.

But I still think a completely "machined" gun would be more kickass than a "regular" one. Maybe I'll design my own gun one day and get it made.
