I keep a squirt bottle of 35% HCL under the sink. It has so may uses.

*Removing tarnish from metals
*Cleaning food stains
*Cleaning carpets. (Yes, just pour it on splotches)
*Putting some in a pop bottle along with aluminum foil to throw at the damn squirrels.

What unorthodox ways do you use HCL?

I had no idea you could use it for half of those things. I have some 30-something percent I got from Sebo's labled "Muratic acid". Last time I had it come into contact with metal, a funky smoke and fumes rising. Wouldn't think it would do good on carpets/fabrics...am I wrong, or is there something other than HCL in there?

Nope. Just 20 baume HCL. It works great for cleaning copper , lead and iron. Doesn't do much for silver though. It cleans copper instantly. Go get a cup of it and drop in some really dirty pennies. They will turn pink instantly. Do it NAOW!
