I only like German pickles. I can't stand the American kind.
Also, when I was in SC, I picked up a jar of "sweet and spicey pickles" (or something along those line) for like hamburgers and shit. Best fuckinh pickles ever.
I love drinking pickle juice when I'm baked. Dills are my favorite, but recently I've been snacking on sweet pickles while stoned. I hate sweet pickles when I'm not stoned.
Dill pickles are awesome. Can't stand sweet pickles.
But hot Banana peppers are my favorite for sandwhiches and salads. I'd give up cucumber pickles forever if I had to pick between them and pickled banana peppers.
I want to try doing Japanese rice bran pickles, you get this funky rice bran starter going with apple peels and beer then you put what you want to pickle in it. Carrot, daikon, eggplant, mostly root vegetables. I really want to know how to do the Korean pickles too. When I go for Korean food at some places it comes with an assortment of pickles, how the hell you pickle mung bean shoots without making them limp is something I must know!
I have successfully done brine pickles, quite an art getting both the salinity and the temperature right, had some misfires that probably would have been lethal if consumed. These pickles have a more complicated flavor due to the presence of lactic acid caused my the enzymatic breakdown of fructose.

I love cornichons- French gerkins that pack a vinegar punch
Indian pickles- from lime to chilli, mango, garlic; They are truly delicious
Russian pickled tomatoes- taste like a fresh tomato on the inside and pickle outside.
Pickled radishes are the epitomy of salt and horseradish flavor (watch for wierd things like benozates and metabisulfates, they suck)
Grandmas old style homemade pickles- The kind in a mason jar with the dill sprig and garlic clove.
