Whats gets your nostalgia juices going?

After sitting in my Uni room yesterday I was flicking through my stupidly large collection of downloaded films, and the CKY collection was on there. I clicked and was transported back to my 15 year old mindset, where my mates were skaters, I played with fireworks and we constantly tried to like the CKY kind of lifestyle, and we did, rather successfully. I actually called my mate and sang a bit of this down the phone to him. He is now in a full time job, I am in full time study and we just wish for the simple days to be back. No women, no finances, just us, our bikes and the world was our oyster.

As for younger years, any kind of reggae, ska or dub. I was brought up in West London, surrounded by Rasta and Pakistani neighbours (no, not Dfg) and even though my parents were white, ethnic music played a huge part in my upbringing. This song seems to bring back memories of playing Worms on Win95 and running round the playground at school.

Thank fuck I had chill parents...
Now what are your nostalgic triggers?

Pretty much anything which reminds me of the times I used to spent online when I first got my laptop and a broadband connection. I was like 13 years old, and I was exposed to so much information which none of my friends would have ever dreamed existed. The days of Rotteneggs.com when I was a little kid. Then the days of reading all the text files on &T. Then the 4chan raids. tM. Whenever something reminds me of any of that, the nostalgia starts.

Same with remembering my high school days, just fucking around every single day without a care in the world. Hanging with my friends, making dumb jackass movies.

Remembering the days where I would stay in on a Saturday night watching Viva la Bam, Jackass and Dirty Sanchez when I was young.

    Good stuff man. Good stuff.

Quake and GTA 3. Go carts.

    The mid-90s-mid 2001 were brilliant.
It all went to shit after 9/11.

He fucking is! Very Libertarian parents with good tastes in music and both act like my siblings instead of my parents. Missing them a fair bit being here at Uni on campus. I have more freedoms at home than I do here!

Also, trx, you sounded just like me as a kid! If I could have written my strating post better, it would be a copy of yours.

As for the others, playing Goldeneye 007 on an N64, or Tony Hawks Pro Skater on a Playstation 1. Oh man...

I used to get 3 of my friends over and we'd play 4 player Goldeneye 64, and I pretty much lived off the Tony Hawk games. I hadn't even heard of skateboaring until I played Tony Hawk 2 on the dreamcast (or it might have been PS1, I can't remember).

Just downloaded the 250 "hits of the 90s" torrent and made a playlist. My alarm this morning was this song, and I woke up thinking I was on the holiday where I first heard it. Was a complete headfuck.

I wish I was back in the 90s...but then half my life wouldn't have happened...hmm

Sega genesis. I didn't get one until 1999. Before that SNES, which I didn't get until 1997, NES which we didn't get until 1993, or Commador 64 which I didn't get until 1998.

Back in my bed at home now, just with a new Laptop, listening to Pink Floyd's "Green is the Colour" and thinking of my best mate who lives 10 mins down the road. Uni's on a break for a few days...

Quake, Doom, Pokemon, Sega fucking Genesis, shitty 90s music, brilliant old cartoons like Ren and Stimpy, terrible old TV shows like Goosebumps. I was obsessed with those books when I was younger and I never realized how bad the show was but I loved it. They show a lot of the old episodes around Halloween every year and usually I'll record an episode or two just to laugh at it.

Yeah I was a nerdy kid. Don't judge me.
