Introduction

Totse (The Temple of The Screaming Electron) was created by Jeff Hunter was closed in 2009. Totse.info started in June 2010 and has been active since. We aim to follow the old traditions of Totse.com and keep the spirit of expressing yourself freely alive. Totse.info is a place for sharing information and learning new things. Unlike the old Totse.com we’re a community driven website and majority will of the community is always taken into consideration in our decision making process.

Community Rules

• Thou shalt not cause grief to thy Administrator, Global Moderators, or Moderator in their sections. These people volunteer their time and have been chosen for their contributions to the community in general as well as the forum(s) they moderate. Their time is better spent contributing content to discussion than dealing with useless drama.
• Personal Information (PI): Do not post messages with credit card numbers, calling card numbers, passwords to private computer systems, other user's real names and personal info (which includes any information that can identify a user beyond their Totse user name.), or unsolicited phone numbers.
• SPAM: Posting the same rant, advertisement, or announcement in multiple forums is moral equivalent of sending SPAM e-mail, we hate SPAM. You’re allowed to advertise your website/blog in one thread or in your sig but you’re not permitted to flood totse with it.
• Harmful Links or Content: If you post a link to a harmful script (password stealer, system crasher, other assorted nasties) you must identify it as a link that can cause harm to users system.. Trying to trick people into clicking on a harmful link will get you booted and banned. If you are going to post a harmful link you must identify it as such and place it in a spoiler or a code tag.
• Do not threaten other users with physical harm or engage in other harassing behavior. Try to be nice to each other if possible.
• Before bugging the Admins with questions, look around and see if you can find your own answers. Seek the Truth! Check the Help and Suggestion section. Using the search function is highly recommended.
• Messages you post may be moved to a more appropriate forum without warning. However, they will not be deleted unless the content is considered SPAM or is harmful to Totse or the thread it is posted in.
• Users will not be deleted because of what they post. They can however be moved to a special user group called mite. The mite group is very restricted as to where it can post so please try to work with the staff if you are being asked to modify your behavior in order to avoid the posting restrictions imposed on the mite group. About the only thing that could get you banned from the system is if you break any of the above rules or if you try to destroy Totse.info.
• Posting off-topic anywhere but Bitch & Moan or Half Baked is frowned upon especially if it does not add to the thread or disrupts it.
• The derailing of threads by page stretching, excessive image posting, off-topic inflammatory remarks or by any other means is not permitted. It is up to the discretion of the moderator of a particular forum as to what is considered off-topic in a given thread.
• Abuse of the report post feature will get you banned. In most cases moderators are required to send a polite PM requesting the user not repeat an infraction offense. In the case of report feature abuse this PM is not mandatory. A warning can be issued for the first offense. The report feature should only be used to report spam, child porn, flooding, hacking, PI, or harmful links that endanger totse. Do not use the report feature for anything other than the above. Users who abuse the report feature will be banned. Only moderators may use report feature for any other purpose.
• Trolling isn’t forbidden on Totse. However if you’re shitty at trolling don’t expect users to go nice on you. Excessive trolling might earn you an infraction if you're trolling derails a thread in a serious discussion forum.
• Posting Drug sources is not allowed. You will get banned for posting them. Please use IRC or other means of communication for sharing them.
• Posting Child Porn is forbidden on Totse. Please use the report feature for reporting it.
• Users who demonstrate a complete lack of respect for the community by continually breaking the rules will be moved to the mite group which is mentioned above. Should this prove to be in adequate to modify these behavior the account will be locked.
• Divisive behavior designed to divide the community and create unnecessary drama will get you added to the mite group. We love freedom of speech but with freedom of speech comes responsibility on the part of user. We will not let users directly harm the community by attacking it via propaganda campaigns. Users deemed by the administration to being engaged in such behavior will be dealt with swiftly.
• No mod or Admin is allowed to leak or sell information regarding any users. Users caught doing it will be dealt with immediately.
• Administrators and moderators are not permitted to make secret deals with any user regarding actions that are in violation of totse rules. Should a user approach a staff member in this manner it is mandatory that the staff member report this to the administration. Should the user be approached by a staff member in this manner they are strongly encouraged to contact a global moderator or administrator.
• Users will be modded based on their contributions and behavior on Totse.info. Inactive mods will be removed after a period of 30 days in less they have posted in the away/leave thread provided in M&A for this purpose. Moderators who have been deemed to have abused their privileges by the administration will be removed from the staff.

Each infraction results in a direct ban which lasts from 6 hours to 4 days or more. A warning is mandatory before an infraction unless it’s a spam bot.

Posting Ads in the appropriate section and posting links to your blog or website for promotional purposes is allowed. Posting the same ad or link in multiple locations will be considered spammed Advertisement can result in a warning or a ban.

Users who purposely post in a fashion to increase the width or length of their post and or the thread they are posting in will be deemed to have committed page stretching.

User tries to hack the forum using scripts or tries to exploit forum weakness or tries to harm the community by phishing.
