Successful French children's author Maxime Roussy has been formally charged after one of his young fans was allegedly lured over the Internet and later molested several times.
Roussy, a 35-year-old father of four young girls, was charged Wednesday in Saguenay, Que. with sexual assault, sexual touching, and using a computer to commit a sexual offense.
The author had been arrested at his home in a police raid. He was released on bail and barred from contacting the victim, being near parks or using a computer.
Police say the assaults took place in the summer of 2006, when the alleged victim was 12 years old. The relationship began with an exchange of e-mails and there were several sexual encounters in Montreal hotel and motel rooms, cops allege.
