My "1st" car was a 68 Volkswagen Beetle that my dad used to let me drive on the empty lot behind his car wash when I was 14. But my 1st car when I had my license was a 75 Camaro Rally Sport just like the one in the pic below.

I also had a 75 Camaro but it didn't look anything like yours.
Mine was all primer grey with black mag wheels.
The motor was a custom built 350 with the lumpiest cam ever,4 speed manual transmission and a 455 rear end.
It looked like something out of a mad max movie. The thing was scary fast and fucking loud.

A Vaxhall astra 1.7 diesel estate, much like this:

    astraestate.jpg

The head gasket went twice. The first time, it got harder to start over a period of 18 months where it got to the point we would have to tow it to start it. Got the dealer to fix it and it was hella expensive. Next time it went I was on the motorway in the midldle of the night, loose power steering pipe worked its way through the radiator, coolant deicided it liked the pressure it felt in the outside world. Got that fixed at an independant for less than half the price.

Lesson learned - learn how cars work and what you need to do to fix them.

The car itself, despite a whole lot of money spent on it for things that maybe should not have broken, was hard as fuck. It was capable of speeds over 130mph, but scrapped in the end as no one could tell us which clutch it took unless they took it apart - even the dealer - as the model had 2 - one cheap to do, one very expensive. Another problem it had in the end was if it had been driven hard it could cut out and take a while to start again. I figured that could be an expensive problem and as the car was starting to rust, scrapped it.

I must have put about 70K miles on that car. It may have been a bit of a waggon, but when one has a car, one attracts car slags.

Ah the wagon is the best for parking with the ladies.
After the Vega I got a 72 Pinto wagon that car was best for getting laid in.

I had the ugliest camaro ever made. A 1978. (< That's what I think) It was primer grey, steel rimmed, dog chewed upholstery and underpowered with a 305ci. One car of a few hundy, but definitely not my 1st.

My 1st car was a 67 mini. (Yes! Similar to Mr Beans) 850cc of neck snapping performance with a low gloss red oxide custom paint job. Then I stepped up to a 58 dodge desoto with a 440 transplant. From there a mopar freak was born.
