Daddy of all To Do List!

edited August 2011 in Spurious Generalities
So, IRL I got some work in order and I thought why not make another to do list. It turns out I work best if I set some goals for myself which are easy and fun.

This time I want this list to be massive and complicated. I want it to cover a full year.

EDIT: The top left AD was added by Hellish to help pay for any future cost and moving of host. Also, I created this list keeping that in mind. We need to earn a buck or two to support new Forum softwares and to help totseans who badly need some IRL help. This after all is a community created to cater for totse community. We're like family here.

I am just thinking how sustainable is &t? I mean you've got the VB licence but after that what costs are there? Server upkeep etc. but after that?
What I am trying to get is will you need us to donate again? If so that's fine ;)

I am just a little drunk and worried about &t's future..

    Cheers,

This list is brilliant  Looking forward to seeing these things get underway, and the IRL groups and stuff sound like good fun. (Warriors FTW).

2011 is going to be a good year for Totse.

EDIT: Also, how about adding things to the list such as professionalizing the text files and information which we have on this site, so that it is up to date, looks good and is relevent to our time and day.

I already added that in CMS section. Revision of Text-files for CMS means just that^

 I missed that section entirely, my bad.

Can we get a WYSIWYG editor for the CMS? It'll be much more efficient than typing in HTML.

    We already have one!
  • edited January 2011
It works either way dude :D You can simply copy/paste stuff straight to the CMS and it will automatically sort out the HTML.

Well then, time to get back to work, except not just yet :o Back to posting more after the break is over, which will be in a couple days :(

How about getting us full HTML/CSS validation too, just to put the icing on the cake?

Where the warriors group is concerned (as well as some other groups), we could set up an IRC channel with details (mission plan, or something) in the IRC title. Then the warrior-fags could sign into IRC and check what they're needed to do, etc.

Use of IRC would also be slightly more anonymous too, rather than posting on the boards.

EDIT - Another idea... How about some HTTPS secure connection? I don't want to have my credentials/site use sniffed by some faggot admin on my college connection. Or anyone else running a sniffer, for that matter.
  • DfgDfg Admin
    edited January 2011
    ^doh!

    I forgot about that.
  • edited January 2011
Just another step along the path to securing Totse. To be honest, you can still sniff out credentials even if they are SSL encrypted, but it makes it a lot harder.

Ill write a guide on sniffing with Ettercap sometime soon, it's really easy to use.

BTW, is this list in any particular order?

A bit busy IRL. But expect to see support for mobile devices in few days or hours if the problem at their end is fixed.

See this is why I didn't want to give you a ton of suggestions considering you already have a handful of shit on your plate.

I am hoping they release a halfway decent version of 4.0 soon, I'm sick of waiting.

We're still going to have a mobile theme, right? It's honestly handy as shit when I'm on my HTC.

I use only my Droid for internet currently because I lost my laptop charger. I haven't had any significant problems accessing the site. Is a mobile theme really necessary?

It's really handy for mobile browsing as it allows the site to fit on the screen better, as well as cutting back on a whole load of scripting and images which take up more bandwidth - this is very useful when you're on a mobile plan with limited internet consumption.

Also, I edited the colors in the OP so it's easier to see what's been done :D Hope you don't mind Dfg.
