I keep telling people, China has a fuckin issue with America for many reasons but everyone is in denial - "oh china is reliant on america, they would never think of going to war or starting a conflict with us"

A) a lot of countries do still rely heavily on the US, probably leading to a choosing of sides (axis vs. allies, etc)
Also remember that thanks to Nato a lot of country's by treaty are required to help us out in the event of war. Our technology and missile defense is vastly superior to the PRC and man power means very little in modern warfare.
Don't forget that India would also jump on the chance to help us take out China and India has a comparable manpower to China. If China was really such a threat than why the hell haven't they kicked us out of Asia yet? The idea that America has a weakening military is fucking stupid.

You are overlooking one thing.
If you were planing on a land assualt against the U.S. would you try to establish a "beachead" in the US? Or would you pick a softer target like Canada and Mexico in order to give your troops a secure supply line to the front?
That and you might think that Canada would just sit on their thumbs but I am sure your Government would react much differently and you know it.
Of course this whole line of discussion might as well be a screenplay for Red Dawn II becasue it is never going to happen.

You are confusing NATO and the United Nations, which are two very different organizations anyone with an inkling of sense can differentiate between. Congratulations on demonstrating once again how you do not fall into that category.

NATO is a military alliance. More comparable to the triple entente in WW1 or the Allies in WW2. All country's in NATO have a duty to mutually defend other nations In NATO in the event of an attack.
