Any type of juice really but personally I prefer cranberry juice (this is really good with redrum also). Orange juice is trite and true but so very common. Usually when I go to drink with friends if they have vodka they mix it with OJ and it gets annoying after a dozen times. Vodka mixes with anything but definitely go with juice. Passionfruit juice works well too.
EDIT: As for storage definitely put it in the freezer. It will take a very long time for it to freeze but it will happen if you're not careful.
Great, thanks for the suggestions. I rarely drink Vodka so it's good to get some response. Oh, and should I store it in the freezer before I use it?
If you like your drinks to be extra cold, sure.
Whenever I make mixed drinks, I prefer the ingredients to be chilled beforehand. When I make Cuba-Libres (Rum+Coke with lemon/lime), I keep the bottles of rum and coke and the glass in the freezer for 20 minutes to half an hour. When I get the timing just right, some of the water in the coke will immediately freeze upon opening or pouring, leaving a very light slush on top of the beverage.
I like vodka in a fruit juice appropriate to the vodka's flavor.
I got this information in a PM so I'm not naming names. Writer can ask me to cite if desired.
Goose, Belvedere and Stoli are all good vodkas, but they're really more for martinis or drinking neat & cold (i.e. just the cold vodka in a glass) or even for pairing with caviar, rye bread and even olives if you're into that. If you're mixing them, you're wasting them. You can get Svedka for around $20 for 1.75L if you want to mix it or take shots. It's quite good for the price.
Other expensive vodkas like Chopin and Kettle One also deserve to be drunk in martinis or cold & neat. I get really mad when people order vodka tonics, vodka cranberry, etc., with nice vodkas because it defeats the whole point of drinking good vodka: tasting it. Don't mix good liquor. Mix cheaper liquor because it isn't meant to be drunk on its own or tasted.
If you can get Kutskova for cheap try it as well. I used to get it for around $15/750ml. It was quite good when cold. Svedka is actually pretty nice for the price. It's easy to take shots of when cold and it has a pleasant grain flavor. Overall it's the best one in its price range for mixing & taking shots.
Of course, always store your vodkas in the freezer. They should be consumed only when cold.
I knew a polish guy who described this vodka based drink to me one day. I forget it's name, but I somewhat remember it's preparation.
You take vodka (I'm almost certain it was vodka) and nearly fill a very large glass jug with it. You then add fruit to it, then seal it and leave it for a while. After a period of time, you'd remove that fruit and add a different sort, and repeat the process periodically, with a different fruit each time.
After a while, they'd drink it at a party or some shit.
My memory
EDIT: Point is, the stuff is meant to be very delicious.
I've got some Dr Pepper as well, which is actually pretty good with Vodka. I'll give the OJ a shot too. Shame I don't have any Mountain Dew - Voltage would probably taste amazing with Vodka.
Fresh grapefruit juice and Stolichnaya vodka, if you don't like grapefruit, fresh orange will do.
If you really want to get strange, this one was shown to me by a Ukrainian guy. You need a juicer though.
Take the juice of 5 cucumbers, peeled and seeded, add 1/4 cup vinegar, and 1/4 cup horseradish. Do shots of ice cold vodka washed back with the cucumber juice mix. It's strange as hell, but it works in some weird way.
Get some Vanil Stoli's. Mix a screwdriver as you normally would, but leave a bit of space at the top. Add cranberry juice. Mix it up. You will taste no alcohol if done properly. Great for getting folks drunk and...enjoying their company.
Also, add some sprite or club soda to the mix for flavor and/or fizziness.

You can use vodka if you like, but always preferred gin.
Since you asked for vodka, try a Darth Vader:
1/2 oz Vodka
1/2 oz Light Rum
1/2 oz Triple Sec
2 oz Sour Mix
1/2 oz Gin
1/2 oz Tequila
Some more for vodka, with no gin:
2 oz Vodka
2 parts Red Bull
Kamikaze:
1 oz Vodka
1 oz Cointreau or Grand Marnier
1 oz lime juice
Black Russian:
2 oz Vodka
1 oz Coffee liqueur
4 parts Cola
White Russian:
2 oz Vodka
1 oz coffee liqueur
1 oz Cream
Skrewdriver:
Vodka + Orange juice
2oz of vodka usually and 5oz of orange juice for a nice decent mix, but I vary it.
There's shitloads, but these are my favourite drinks.
If it's cheapo vodka like Glen's then yes; otherwise I just leave it in the drink cabinet.
I'm sippin' on Plymouth gin.
Cut up a few habaneros or other chilies to your taste and place in a glass jar.
Fill with vodka and seal the jar, leave the chilies in for 24-72 hours.
If it gets too hot just mix it out with more vodka or use it in drinks.
Best used mixed with limejuice or as shots server straight from the freezer.
That actually sounds like to would rock a Bloody Mary.
Have not tried it myself but you are probably right.
How does it make them smoother? I don't know.
I've always noticed that liquor is easier to take when it's chilled.
Oh no I was asking how they knew it was Fang
Also, add some sprite or club soda to the mix for flavor and/or fizziness.
it was well put together, and fang knows his liquor.
