Does this only apply to Nashville or does it apply to other states?

Stealing cars has apparently never been easier. Criminals aren't using fancy tools or new technology; they're just calling the tow truck and having cars towed away. Video: Criminals Use Tow Trucks To Steal Cars
They weren't asked for proof they owned the car.The law does little to protect a car's owner when the vehicle is at least 10 years old. Thieves can call in a wrecker service and have it towed right out of an owner's yard; they don't even need a title.

    hmmm...looks like the press got ahold of it, so the cops did too...doo some fore-play, park your own car in the park, and have it towed a few times, experimenting with different companies...
    I am pretty sure they write down your drivers licence number...

    Drivers licence is easy to bypass. However! if they check it on the spot, then....oops. :o
