  Amazing, I was shocked as well. I don't know the song but even I can see he got some major talent. I think his clothes and outlook might make him a favorite in this years show. Thanks for sharing this.

  He shamelessly manipulated the audience. The pre-show interview, his clothing, his gait - was all prepared to give the appearance of the "Ugly Duckling".
  
  The audience were praying for something like that anyway, he was playing to a receptive crowd. You can notice just before he starts playing the entire theater holding their breathe in anticipation.
  
  Ever since that ugly lady started singing "I Dreamed A Dream" this show has become nothing more than a musical version of The Ugly Duckling.
  
  I wonder if he would have been met with such loud applause if he was dressed more appropriately for television.

  We need to get back to finding proper musicians like these, instead of those flavor-of-the-month, manufactured artists that the recording industry squirts out every now and then.
  
  EDIT: How many popular singers can you think of that could get the same reaction with just a guitar and a mic as they could with all of their producing, backup singers, gratuitous use of auto-tune, lighting and a flashy costume?
