Tampa, Florida -- A father is behind bars after investigators say a fight with his son*got out of control.

Hillsborough deputies say on Monday night, 51-year-old Lawrence Daniel got into an argument with his son Bruce, trying to kick his son's girlfriend out of their mobile home.

Lawrence allegedly became enraged, grabbing a large sword and swinging it at his son.* Bruce, 28,*grabbed a tree branch to defend himself, which the father was able snap with the sword.

Authorities say the son was able to strike his father with the branch, causing Lawrence to drop the weapon. Bruce was able to knock it away, at which point his father went and grabbed two additional samurai swords.

Seeing the fight, a neighbor called 911. Arriving deputies arrested the father.* Lawrence Daniel faces charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and attempted murder. His son was unharmed.
