We're going to officially Launch around the New Year, during this time I would be working on my IRL work and working on this platform. Everything you see now will most likely be changed, removed or moved. The whole layout and structure will get changed. I already nullified the moderator structure and now it's following a pretty unique structure. TDR will now be handling the Moderators and new mods. This is because it's far easier for him to detect assholes considering he is one, plus he is in good terms with all the mod team. TeamSpeak is going to play a vital role in all of this, considering my time schedule, it's the only place I can be most of the time, this does not mean I wouldn't be posting, this just means it's easier for me to give you a rapid update or guide you correctly or even train you.
The CMS will get some upgrades as well, the current categories will be revised, made more logical, since we're now following Internet rules, you will certain changes when it comes to piracy related materials. In short, Totseans.com will be NO PIRACY ZONE, considering everyone here knows how to Google and can easily sign up to a private tracker, I am sure that wouldn't be a problem, I want to make this move because real people who earn money and work hard, do have some morals when it comes to stealing.
Another vital change is the audience we're attracting, kidiots, trolls and dump idiots are not welcome. You can make some funny yet creative threads but the one liner BS threads are not welcome, this time it's Quality over quantity. We have a unique user base here, it's a mix of old and young, I am sure there will be some complications but you have to be flexible if you want to learn something, what's the point of being in a community when they only thing it does is harm you IRL. I want this place to be a real beacon where users can come, share and actually learn something. Quality articles, threads is something that I want to see here.
Also, I am sure many of you are a bit peeved about the Domain, when I bought this domain I intended to make it platform for users to get jobs of out, but due to my workload, I couldn't give time to it, so when we had to move and I saw that following our current trend will only result in more problems, I decided to take a leap of faith. The term Totseans is taken from Totse, if you were on Totse you will be called a Totseans, but I looked at the general meaning of it when I bought the domain, for me Totseans represent people who are free and know what real information is, they're people of diverse belief and they're unique creative individuals who have the power to bring great change.
I thought it would be fitting to use the name for Totse.info considering how much we have grown as a community, I am sure other communities that for reason hate us for being what we are were pretty happy when Totse.info went offline and it was honestly funny to see their reactions, in reality we never went down, we evolved and transformed, we did something that other offshoot communities can't do, we're no longer .info, we're no longer a clone and we're certainly no longer following the footsteps of Jeff Hunter.
This is a new venture altogether, combining what we have learned from our past experiences and using our real world knowledge we took this step to ensure that whoever was/is involved in this running project would be proud of it at a certain point. You will see what I mean once we really start going, this time it's not a one man operation, it's a group effort. It took me months and some might say a year to reach things point, I never really intended to keep going on under Totse shadows forever, I knew as others who were watching from afar knew, this wouldn't last long.
So, take a seat, get ready and send me some of your ideas of what you will like to see, considering we're not under the Totse influence anymore, I don't really mind being creative with certain aspects of the forum. You will see a new mission statement up, and some other vital pages up as well. As soon as the DNS conflict is resolved (two DNS were active hence the conflict) we will move ahead and start reshaping this place. I will be in TS if you need me, but I would be busy working on IRL work during that time.
TL;DR:
- Forums Revised
- New Mission Statement
- New Rules
- New Policies
- No Torrents
- No Porn
- No Piracy
- Layout/Logo/Graphics Update
- Moderation Changes
- and more...

A bit relevant
Something I would like to see is a face book type notifications system, so you dont have to refreash the page to see when someone has commented on a thread you are subscribed to. That would be really cool.
Keep up the good work!
Actually that's quite possible now
Also, quick idea, I love the cloud link thingy on the front page. would it be possible to do something similar for new posts on the bottom of each page. It would make navigation so much quicker and be quite revolutionary.
ETA actually new posts would be difficult as everyones new posts are different. What about todays posts?
This is vitally important, along with a revised mission statement. It's going to have to be spelled out very plainly what is allowed and what isn't re: the legal shit.
The absolute "no torrent" rule seems excessive to me. I understand that gratuitious links to films and music are an unnecesary legal hasle, but things like army field manuals, survival manuals, fitness programmes are valuable sources of information. Will the no torrent rule extend to copyrighted files shared via dropbox etc?
That seems awfully restrictive. What are we going to talk about?
E: out of interest was anyone given a specific reason why .info was blacklisted? Was "unsuitable content" referring to anything other than torrents and pirated material?
A few of us have started working on the CMS today. We're going through every single article (that's a lot, over 400 I think) and throwing the bad ones away, updating tags, cleaning up and making the place look/perform much better. After that, we can really get cracking.
RIP Bad Ideas
Guess I don't pay much attention, otherwise.
I do like the idea. Gives a feeling of who we are rather than where we were.
The web has come a long way since the original &T.
As such, I can't really disagree with sticking closer to adsense rules.
Anything we once came here to find that was frowned upon by search engines can be easily and freely found elsewhere.
Things have advanced enough that continuing to try being the "shady" corner of the internet is no longer logical for the site.
I dig the changes so far, and I'm looking forward to everything rolling out at the beginning of the year.
Stuff like Night-ops and Ka-fucking-boom like threads will obviously not be welcomed on this forum.
ETA. this could possibly be used for VBookie too?
Just thinking aloud here LOL
This would be good for stopping spam bots and it makes it a pain in the arse to make an alt account.
take or leave it, just a throwing ideas around.
Some kind of hidden section out of view of the adsense spider could work. I don't know if v bulletin allows for it but its an idea.
The rule confuses some new arrivals, but they can actually post anywhere on the forums. They just can't make a thread outside of Introductions and Help and Suggests until they reach five posts.
Like you said, it does slow down spam bots who only intend on making threads, although not all spam posts are stopped.
