    Ive got 2 words for NK Patriot Missiles. Missile defense and air superiority would quickly dominate NK. South Korea's overall technology and tactics would quickly overrun north Korea. It would be a stupid move for kim jong il to attack.

    The US has been threatening the DPRK and the DPRK is responding with a threat that they'll use Nuclear Weapons if the United States attempts to strike the DPRK. Ultimately its the DPRK attempting to defend its borders by issuing a larger threat.

    The situation is definitely getting kicked up right now due to the fact that the US has been continuing War Exercises near the DMZ which can be seen as a hostile act by the DPRK due to the fact that they're using the exercises as a threat towards the DPRK.

    Nothing to see here; Just typical conversations between two states that have a M.A.D policy on each other, however ones obviously larger and capable of much more destruction than the other.

    Kim wouldn't strike first due to the fact that the overall threat in this situation is the one from the ROK to the DPRK. In which the DPRK are attempting to respond to by using the threat of Nuclear Conflict against the ROK. Its simple really, the ROK stages several Military Excersies with the United States in which they're attempting to threaten the DPRK with the threat of war with and the DPRK responds by attempting to say that they'll use Nuclear Weapons.

    As well, the overall stating of the 'threat' from the DPRK is misunderstood on purpose by those reporting on it due to the fact that they're attempting to portray the DPRK as an 'evil state' instead of simply showing them as the tiny Isolationist buffer state that is attempting to protect itself from the ROK's attempts at causing a conflict with it.

    Agreed. Sure if we were on ground using small arms fire with foot soldiers we'd be in for a second Vietnam. Our missle defence program for our country ( Not so such about SK) is more technologically advanced by decades.

    God forbid if they did launch, there country would be gone in minutes. Altho the after effects for SK would probably also be devastating.


    TLDR: Any global douchebag should be delt with before they decide to act.

    If NK bombs japan then the USA gets sucked into the mess. However it will only take 4 minutes to finish off NK.

    However, our government is incompetent and this will end up as another Vietnam. There will be a draft and another generation lost. Unlike the 60's, there will be no protesting and people won't give two shits as our government digs itself deeper in debt. People will then bitch and moan 10 years later as taxes go through the roof; and ultimately pay them anyway.

    I hope they try to launch one of their warheads (if they even have any) with their missiles they have been testing so far, epic self pwn if it just crashes back on them or explodes midair.
    I wonder if that would set of the warhead? Probably not, but it would atleast release some radioactive material over them.

    If it is a gun type nuke, then it would set it off. Any scattered uranium is much less a radiation hazard than it is a heavy metal hazard.
