I had 2 goldfish and they appeared to be best buds, but one died a week ago. Now the other one just sits at the bottom of the tank all day and doesn't move much. Makes me feel bad. I'm going to buy him a new buddy tomorrow.
no, free him into the ocean, or a near by fountain. How do you think that fish feels about being imprisoned 24/7 inside that bowl like a convict sentenced to life without parole? you are a sick man. dont you think its wrong for you to imprison fish in a glass jail cell for what is an eternity for a fish? no wonder they were depressed. may god have mercy on your soul
Goldfish were bred for use as pets. They won't survive in the ocean cause they're either freshwater, or they get eaten by other fish. In a fountain, what's the difference? It's still a man made container, and now nobody's going to feed them.
Problem with pets is, if you have a single one you will feel sorry for him and get him a partner and after that they will have kids and fuck you over or if the mate dies you're still fucked. Same goes for gold fish. Just get another pair if possible. Even if your old fish kills himself the new pair will keep you company or they can have a threesome. Just make you're not getting two dudes [Boku]
Back when i was 10 or 11 my one really old dog died of some kind of tumor and my other dog didn't even react to its death, in fact it got even more energetic. I guess i have an evil selfish dog
or a dog that fears not for those of us who have returned to the force. your dog is yoda.
I'm actually having some fish issues. I think the pump has seen better days, and the water seems to be clouding over. The fish are all hanging at the top of the water, which leads me to believe the water has too many nitrates? In it.
OP, why did the first one die?
Goldfish can naturally get older than 30 years and some have been known to get 70. Since I doubt that yours died from old age, there most be something in the water that killed it. Whatever it is, it could be weakning the survivour to a state where you think it is "sad".

lol me neither...
Op, do you think maybe he is just sleepy?
Poor thing must feel awful.
Yeah.. they showed that on MythBusters
I had two hamsters and after one die, the other refused to eat and then died as well
The funny thing is, they actually DID show this on Mythbusters. Goldfish do remember for a long time.
Buy him a new buddy.

Also, get more than one if you can. They'll all kinda live together as a community, its cool.
I'm not sure that goldfish die when on their own bro
It's gonna die anyways.
