    It is a fungas that grows on wheat. Origonally used by midwives to stimulate the uterus during child birth. More recently. well, since 60 or so yrs ago lol it is used in the production of various psychedelics including LSD.


    O yah, some pharmacuticals used it. Not sure if they still do for some conditions like alzhimers (sp) or parkinsons or something. Some old school pharms that is.

    Ergotamine was first synthesized at Sandoz Labs in 1918, using Ergot mold as a precursor. It was then toyed with, as it had very obvious pharmaceutical properties, and a fellow named Hoffman eventually spilled a few drops of an ergotamine derivative on his hand and had the first acid trip, by all accounts a pretty good one too. It is used in conjunction with caffeine to treat migraines due to it's vasoconstrictive properties.
    LSD is usually made from Ergotamine Tartrate diverted from the legitimate market, it is preferred over organically derived LSA for reasons of consistency.
