I have been an admin here since about the beginning. I put a lot of effort early on into this place and it will always be meaningful to me. Honestly although i think this site will always be around...Nostalgia sucks....bringing back the "totse spirit" is stupid. We're all 10 years older now. We have the subreddit for all…
I noticed. It broke CSS editor i think, hence the difference in looks. Will eventually get around to fixing it. i seem to have misplaced my ftp access though...
yeah dude. I check out this site (and /r/totse) multiple times a week. But like you, there's just no time and as we get older we all just have more commitments. The most fun and learning i've ever had on the internet was on here though dude. I'm always contactable for a chat.
Yep. I imagine the bandwidth got expensive. When it comes to online storage i follow the basic rule of finding a service that does one thing and one thing only. imgur (images), scribd (documents) etc. They're less likely to change their business model - although they could just close up.
We had them but they had to be re uplaoded and configured every update. I think they've recently fixed this. Speaking of this @Dfg https://open.vanillaforums.com/discussion/32822/vanilla-2-3-is-now-available#latest
I've been buying the nexus phones for years. They usually release two, one high end one and a cheaper sub $500.00 phone. I buy the cheaper one. The Pixel phones are too expensive. They're onviously trying to build a premium brand to compete with Apple. Might go with the OnePlus phones - only worried about the build quality.
sweet. You're only as fast as the other end. I get 100/50 on fibre. It's pretty good. In some ways the increase sucks, ISPs tend to over subscribe their capacity - 11 people might be getting 100M on a 1G backhaul.
The Howard Stern clip is a perfect snapshot of how politically unaware people were then. Everyone thought it was an accident, then they realised it wasn't. Happier times.
I remember this day Pretty well. I was still in primary school. We were sat cross legged in front of an old TV wheeled out of the storage room and made to watch the planes hit the towers over and over again. Pretty defining moment in my psyche.
If I were American, I'd probably support trump: 1) Hillary is evil. 2) Trump is smart enough to know he's not qualified for the job and will delegate to experts. He'll probably follow though on his opposition to globalisation, which is good. That said I'd prefer not to vote.
Ah. Cool. I check this place out several times a week (usually on the loo). Rarely post now, though.. We're all doing things now. Still in the phillipines Dfg?
Just came back from watching this. It was surprisingly solid. The plot was tight and the dialog sharp. It also had a good blend of old and new.It was better than the Episodes I,II, and III. It was a good sequel to the original trilogy.
It was a "this forum is dead" thread. Also, I didn't actually delete it. I moved it to "Not in MY forum" (where it belongs). I just didn't feel like explaining it to the shitface OP.
You're the one replying to 5 year old threads as if they happened yesterday dickhead. You're also a whiny sensitive shit. Get over yourself - it's just the internet no one cares.
I suspec you'll find all "sites like this" have now turned into subreddits. I've been meaning to ask Dfg for a backup actully. How do you backup this stuff Dfg?
Only the backup on archive.com exists. I've only ever seen that backup renamed variously. There are no other backups. Fanglekai's email (the one he registered here with) is: [email protected]
There's no helping some women. They're just hellbent on destroying their lives (and everyone around them) with their own hands. No logic or reason can stop it.
I remember that journalist's article and Jeff's response (well before my time). It was a good response. Lot's of tech things were happening over at Wallnut Creek in the 90s
An update on this, I've figured out a fix for it (see above links) But that exposed another bug: http://vanillaforums.org/discussion/31221/embedding-links-from-metadata https://github.com/kasperisager/vanilla-oembed/issues/5 Now waiting on feedback (or an epiphany on my end). (so embedding remains disabled)
