I have played this on and of since 2005 and i can say it have really come a long way since then, even if it have a somewhat limited amount of players compared to WoW or other MMORPGs.

The game itself is free to play and does not have any limitations, but there are special pay-to-play races for your character if you wish to use them.

There is also a "EL-Shop" where you can buy some ingame items for $ to support the Radu. (The games creator)

The game is classless, every character have the same abilities and skills at start and different attribute points can be used to make the character more specialised in one or more skills. These attribute points can also be switched for others at a later time, at a cost of ingame money of course.

Levels are capped at 179 both for the different skills and for overall levels while attributes are capped at 48.

There are 12 skills:
Attack, Defense, Magic, Potion, Alchemy, Summoning, Manufacturing, Crafting, Engineering, Tailoring, Ranging, Harvesting.

The game world

The world is made up of two continents, each made up of a number of smaller maps.

Isla Prima is the "newbie island" where new players spawn and "the wrait" is located. (NPC that allow you to place "pickpoints in different attributes)
Also on the island is a tutorial NPC, a tavern and a storage for newbies.
The most important spot on Isla Prima is the "beam", at anytime in the game you can type "#beam me" and scotty will beam you back to the campfire at Isla Prima.

From Isla Prima you can then travel to the rest of the maps by boat, other ways to travel betwen maps are teleports, simply walking to the entrance to the next map or using spells or magic rings for travel.

Some maps allow PvP combat, and there are also arenas on some maps that do the same.

Only downside to the game as i see it is that it will require a lot of time to level to the top, but the great thing is that it is possible to have fun for all levels.
The game also have a strong community that most of the time will help newbies that are polite and dont ask for "Fr33 St0ff plx!" ;)

In general begging is not welcome and that helps get rid of most 13y olds that are too stupid to understand the game themselves. In general the people you interact with are mature and polite, even if ther of course are some "outlaws" that will steal your stuff at first chance. (And how boring would the game be without them?)

Being an outlaw is not against the game rules aslong as you do not sabotage the game itself (blocking resources, luring newbies into PK areas...)

Anyway, this got alot longer then i had intended.
Chech it out if you are looking for a free MMORPG with a mature player base and a friendly atmoshere, or if you just want to start a pirate guild and kill people for teh loot. :hai:
