Michigan cops looking to bust "Mad Hatter" theft ring

STERLING HEIGHTS, Mich. — Detroit-area police say they're looking for a gang of older women they call the "Mad Hatters" because of the head gear they wear while stealing hundreds of thousands of dollars using credit cards and checks snatched from purses.
Sterling Heights police on Thursday released a series of security camera photos of the suspects.
Investigators from Wayne, Oakland, Macomb and Livingston counties are working on the case.
