Tromeo & Juliet

Director:
Lloyd Kaufman

Starring:
Lemmy (from Motorhead)
And a bunch of people nobody remembers... (for the most part, respectably)

General Info:
A Troma film, thus the title's play on Romeo's name, about Shakespeare's classic! The tag line for the film was, "Body piercings, Kinky sex, Dismemberment. The Things That Made Shakespeare Great" -Basically, the things Troma are known for! This Summer time love story is full of Lulz for the whole family, as its ending is not nearly as depressing as most versions of the tale.

The movie also featured a soundtrack full of alternative, pop punk, heavy metal and rock music. One of the few bands that was slated to be on the soundtrack but didn't make it was Nirvana, due to frontman Kurt Cobain's suicide. Several Troma posters line both houses walls, and you can even see the future Godsmack album cover hanging in the background of the piercing shop.

Feel free to talk about any of Troma's library of works, or other adaptations of Shakespeare's wonderfully depressing plays.
