I don't know how I would be able to stretch this post out or give it more content, because what I have to say is fairly simple.
If you want to properly enjoy your favorite sodas, find them in glass bottles, preferably made in south America. The reasons?
First, in the United States, we use corn syrup in most sodas. In Latin America, their sugar is natural and made from sugarcane.
Second, glass is inert, leaving the flavor or your beverage unaffected by the chemicals in the plastic bottles and plastic linings of cans, which [have been proven to] leech out into sodas over time.
This post stems from my recently having bought glass bottle, Mexican Coca-Colas, and deciding that I would never again settle for cans or plastic. There's definitely a difference, you will notice it and you won't go back.
EDIT: Places to find glass-bottles include Bodegas, places like Costco and warehouse stores, etc. Some regular supermarkets may stock them from time as well.

Try them. Seriously.
Jones cream soda is the best, same with black cherry.
There are a few "exotic" sodas in the foreign foods section of my supermarket that come in glass bottles, I might try a few out by way of comparison. I had never really considered that they might be better due to using cane sugar.
