1 16oz can of Garbanzo beans (Chick peas)
1-1/2 tablespoons Tahini
2 tablespoons Olive oil
2 cloves Garlic
2 teaspoons of lemon juice
1 teaspoon salt
Blend in a food processor or blender with liquid from the can of beans. I use around a quarter of the liquid. Salt and spice to taste.
Proceed to eat with pita, pita chips, bread, whatever.
This stuff is so healthy, tasty and easy to make, there's no excuse not to.

I normally buy the stuff and most of it has to much lemon in it. So thanks for the recipe. OP. (Roasted Garlic - I like that LC.)
Of course there are thousands of variations. Anything you want to add, you may add. What I posted is a very simple recipe. What actually triggered my recent hummus frenzy was Sabra brand hummus, with bits of sun-dried tomato in it. I then realized how simple it was to make, and whipped out the Cuisinart processor.
It's jewish?
The person who introduced me to it was an Arab, lol.
Anyway, I make my own now.
