Whats the fastest download speed you can get?

i think my isp says we get 20MB but the fastest ive seen on a download is 1.2MB/s :(

and thats only when im not playing with my todger

    If connected directly to the modem, 59.

    Even so, my network has been experiencing some weird shit. I only get 6.5-6.7 mb/s at downloads when connected TO the modem. When using a router, it's ~2.8.

    the speed they advertise is it in megabytes or megabits

    No it doesn't work that way. I recall LSA King explaining this some time ago. I'll try to look it up.

    I'm on a 4Mb connection, download speed is around about 800KBps which isn't too bad for me. I don't do much downloading anymore anyways, and I always get great ping and connection quality for games :thumbsup:

    Internet companies advertise speed as MegaBITS(Mbps) per second, while download rates that you get from a downloader will show as MegaBYTES(MBps) per second.

    So your ISP is giving you 20 mB/s [megaBITs per sec]

    But you're downloading at 1.2 mb/s [megabytes per sec]

    Even so, that's shitty. I downloaded at around 2.4 mb/s when I had 20 mb/s. That's the reason why I upgraded.
