Without derailing the thread, I intend on setting an alarm at 8am, then snoozing for 10 minutes. I read in one of your posts that you tried something similar and you got good results. Got nowt planned tomorrow.
Also how does dream recall help your lucidity? Is it just being able to imagine settings and places? I always have paper and a pen by my bed just in case (lol Burglar) but if I can remember my dream, it usually stays with me for the rest of the day - or in some cases, the rest of my life. I was taken to many-a psychologists as a kid because my Parents would catch me talking to people that weren't there, or having experiences that weren't typically human. Was odd. The worst dream I had was being stranded in the middle of an open place and a girl stuck on the top corner of an invisible box (as though I was inside a box but it was invisible) and she was a real life CCTV). I still can't walk into certain rooms without it coming back to haunt me. Some of which are in my own house.
Your plan sounds good to me. A good thing to be doing is testing out different methods which you read online, and seeing what works best for you. After all, everyone is different. I usually get very vivid dreams in the morning, usually after I've woken up once and then gone back to sleep, thinking about what I want to dream about. When thinking about it, I also tell myself to start lucid dreaming
Dream recall helps your ability to lucid dream by allowing you to recognize more easily that you're actually dreaming. Noting down certain things in your dream is a great way of building up a nice picture of what you often dream about, and using these dream journals, you can actually recognize certain patterns in your dreams over the last week, month or even year depending on how dedicated you are. As you carry out these journal entries, you will find them becoming progressively more detailed and you will start remembering a lot more stuff, which is also very cool
For some reason, something clicked with my dreaming and the ability to go lucid very often. I can pretty much figure out that I'm dreaming without any visual cues or anything - I just know that I'm dreaming because it FEELS like a dream. It's pretty cool. Also, the amount of sex dreams I've had which involve lucidity have allowed me to go lucid as soon as I dream about a girl, meaning plenty of in-dream sex

I also get this as well. I've noticed that by pure accident when I "snooze" I tend to get really vivid thought processes. it's pretty cool but never to the point of dreaming. If anything I wish to set myself a goal of a setting or activity that I wish to achieve via Lucid Dreaming. So this also seems pretty good for me (the morning).
Duly noted. I thought it was, and this just confirms it. I'd love to see if I have any recurring thoughts of things in dreams. As I have a few weeks to go before University, I also want to see how my dreams change when I am moved to a different location, or if I try drugs (been on a 3 week detox. Fuck yeah).
I think I need that now. Been a while. Ahem.
Also when I said about the oddness experienced in this post, these are a few MSPaint images I made trying to show what I experienced. The second one is at this swimming pool which was near where I lived in London - and I was only about 10 at the time.
The weird shit I saw would happen in the upper part of the ground floor toward the left of the building, as you could see in my shitty pre-image-viewing MSPaint recall. Tha's how vivid it was. I still recall the windows and if there were another photo, you'd see the slide etc. It's clear as day. considering I've not been back there in at least 10 years, the fact I still know exactly what it looks like freaks me out. I only just fun that image of the pool, and it sends a shiver down me.
Night 1
8am recall: "Not too much other than I took loads of valium as I was scared of a psychic who would send evil spirits to me. I went to a school in London after spending the nights at an old Friends house (Charlie) which is underground - much like a bunker as his house was."
8:10am recall: "The psychic was a fake, so I did my upmost to kill them but to no success. London school had outdoor classes and the teacher was an ex Black policeman, who gave sessions of Team Fortress 2 as rewards for good behaviour and performance. I needed to go for a piss at a festival down the road but had no ID so had to use my Dad's old work ID. There were loads of porn references."
Lucid 10 minutes: I was very skitty. Trying to concentrate was a bitch but I will work on it. My mind was racing and I was like "fuck, only got 10 minutes". In future I will either lengthen the snooze period or have an objective to concentrate on.
/Day 1 entry.
Was actually looking at sleep deprivation experiments as well. I'd love to experience them all. Will limit myself to 5 hours of sleep tonight to wake up as REM sleep occurs.
Stay tuned!
Ok so my lucid moments were kind of inbetween the dream and awake. I remember waking up then going back to sleep, and my dream involved something about going to Libya with reject (from here) and my Dad, enslaving the locals and making a sand-fort. It was a holiday as well as a random outing to the Country. After which we saw a submarine and then escaped on it.
Ended up sleeping till 8am. Should have been more awake.
Do you find that waking up and doing something then going back to sleep helps? Otherwise I hot my snooze button then just go straight back to sleep.
Attempted the MILD technique mixed with a need to do the WILD technique if need be.
Dream report.
Dream 1 - walking along a dark alley, much like a road near where I live with the river etc running by as in real life. Met some random people and went to a pub where I went round some tunnels. Waited for my girlfriend but she was busy. I made up some bullshit story to the Patrons of the pub and got a drink, walking round the cellars with the people who owned the Pub but there was a reason still unclear to me. After which I went into an office block next door and arsed about with some pissed businessmen, spinning round in the chairs and wearing a suit much to the displeasure of their Boss. There were also bodies in the basement of the office block where peoples bodies were preserved but their body parts were missing underneath, much like the volcano in Pompeii.
Time - 4:36am
Dream 2 - I went back to sleep recalling the Libyan style dream I had the previous night, repeating "I'll remember this dream" and taking around 10 minutes to drift off. Anyway I "spawned" in a Forward Operating Base that was being overrun by the enemy. It was a desert scenario and I was trying to find ammunition for a weapon with a friend. I picked up a G36 and he had a Bren Gun. The realism in this dream was second-to-none. I stil remember the glint on the brand new, unboxed weapons but there was a noticable lack of weight.
Anyway, as we were about to surrender and be put on a firing range, I woke up.
It's odd as my dream recall tends to get better as the day goes on.
Proper mental.
Also when I realised I was drifting into this state of semi-lucidity, my body was mostly paralysed but in a good way. I could still feel my jeans on and faintly hear my Mum and Sister moving around the house, but the thoughts and images entering my brain were like a daydream, only more intense. Was pretty groovy, for lack of a better, trippy word.
Anyway, when I eventually did, I had an amazing lucid dream where I became a Spy with a Sniper Rifle. Walking round a local Town late at night and taking out Military outposts was amazing! only just got up...*looks at time* it's 12:40
