The US is going downhill fast. Its incredibly hard to start a business in the private sector because of all the laws and taxes and regulations. Obama's just making it worse. The businesses we have are leaving and there's nothing replacing them. The population is getting stupider and stupider and they're allowing the government to get bigger and bigger. Hell they're telling us what to eat now! Not only that, but they do things in congress underhanded: IE the huge healthcare bill; they added so much back deal shit to it like a secret amendment taxing those who buy something >$600 online. And now they are attempting to censor the internet.

Welcome to the United Socialist States of America!

So who holds the cards in this situation? Who is buying the bonds? China? World banks? Who is investing in the U.S., and to a lesser extent Canada?

I'm not too sure about that. It certainly isn't china or canada, and the banks have been all but bought out by the government. Nobody is really "investing" in the US because the US really doesn't have anything to offer anybody. I feel that most of the power is going into the hands of the house of "representatives" and the senate, with the executive branch their pawn. The supreme court doesn't seem to be doing anything.

This is why I was glad to see my state is pushing a new legislation that allows angel investors an increased tax break. I think the current paperwork will allow a 40% deduction of whatever someone invests in a given year, with a set minimum. Should increase the number of small businesses in Nebraska.

Sadly, one state doing this isn't really going to cure every other fuck up that's happened in the past decade or so that scared off some major sources of income for the country.
