May or may not have a plan to go out in the early hours and rob fuel from cars - Night ops style.
The only bit of the plan we are stuck on is how to actually puncture the fuel tanks. Obviously we will not touch a metal tank due to the risk of sparks.
We had thought of a knife, but then if you get caught you get shafted for carrying a blade, so we swapped to a flat head screw driver but i aint sure if it will work.
Ideas/Help?

Just siphon it. Then you can go back to the tank after it's refilled. Destroying the tank is more work and brings attention to what you're doing.
Only problem with syphoning is the vast majority - 99% - of all cars have a locked filler cap.
With putting a hole in the tank we are gonna re-seal it - so far plan on just using fuck loads of duck tape. then we can come back to the same car fairly soon after the first hit. Also, even if the seal only lasts for a couple of days the car could have been parked in several over places in that time so they will not be able to say when the damage was done.
Tho on some cars the fuel filter is with the tank (tucked in a wheel arch etc) so we just have to disconnect the hoses. However most cars fuel filter is under the bonnet =[.
Gas cap jiggler $3.95
Cuts down on the rest of the kit we need as well
^This, for the stated reasons and because if you simply siphon the fuel it is merely theft and difficult to prove unless you are caught red handed. On the other hand drilling a hole in the tank is not only theft (easier to prove with a hole in the tank) and destruction of property. By leaving a hole in the tank you are leaving behind concrete evidence of your acts.
Besides, a siphon is a lot less hassle and much neater. If you go punching holes in gas tanks you are going to get gas every where. This in turn will make you reek of fuel and draw attention to you.
Cop: There has been a string of gasoline thefts in the area where the suspect(s) have been drilling holes in peoples tanks. We just had another incident reported down the street. Have you seen anyone suspicious in the area tonight Miss?
Corner Store Clerk: Now that you mention it, there was a guy that came in here about 30 minutes ago who reeked like gasoline. He bought a package of Wet Ones® and a snickers. Hey, I bet he is the guy your looking for.
Tip the car upside down, the fuel will run past the anti syphon device - it is just there to stop you from getting a hose in the tank.
Shame thats not really a viable method. If i was the hulk however........
just ram a hose in and it'll all be cushty then?
That is more like a good way to lose your drivers license and go to jail.
