Banned, and logged in? creating a thread?

    Just a guess.

    When a user is banned they can still read post, and possibly still be logged in, and the last thing he was doing was making a thread.

    Or

    If you just banned him the site had not updated.

    If it's a bot the status will just show him doing the last action. You banned him he was trying to create a thread.
