Change Log. [Find out what was added and removed]

In the last few hours some major and minor changes took place and its best if everyone knows about them and the reason behind those changes.

  1. Forum Log thread was created. http://www.totse.info/bbs/showthread.php?t=2745
  2. Trading Zone was added and it was moved up into Society section.
  3. New Prefixes introduced for Trading Zone.

    Trade/Sale:
  4. Moderator Permissions were fixed. Now Mods can access the special moderator section and the infraction forum.
  5. PM message limit was increased. From 120 and 150 respectively.
    Admins 2000
    Mods 1000
    Registered Users 500
    Acolyte 500
    Regulars 1000
  6. Infractions were introduced. Each infraction is an instant ban. Infractions can't be extended nor the user can be perma banned using them. Mods are required to avoid using them if possible.
  7. Infraction forum was added as well, every infraction/ban given will be posted in that forum automatically, reported threads also get a auto thread.
  8. News of The Temple was moved up and Help and Suggestion section was moved down.
  9. Layout matches this image.

  10. The Marketing Forum was added at the bottom. Post count don't count in that section. It's a test section that we will use to get some much needed money from Adsense. That section has only one purpose, to get traffic and gets on Totse.
  11. The Wank Zone forum was added in the Entertainment section. It's Totse official porn section. The name can be changed if required. No bots are allowed.
  12. BBcode were added. Spoiler,goanchor and achor are now available for use.
  13. Social bookmarking is enabled, meaning digg and other tools can be used. Twitter is also added and it will ne available after I get the image uploaded. These tools make it easier to post threads on different sites and get some traffic. Twitter although is hated by everyone is a good source of traffic.
  14. FAQ was updated. http://www.totse.info/bbs/faq.php Moderation Guide and Video guide were added.
  15. Forum name is fixed. It now shows Totse instead of Community.
  16. Meta Keywords and description changed: This is a discussion forum powered by vBulletin. To find out about vBulletin, go to http://www.vbulletin.com/ .

  17. In keyword sections, Totse was added.
  18. Censorship option is set to disable.
  19. Fixed the subscription problem. New users will have auto thread subscriptions with no notification.
  20. Visitor Messaging System is disabled. To safe some resources and to lose the wall setting. It's a temporary change and if users don't like it with can be enabled.
  21. Minimum Characters Per Post set to 3 from 2.
  22. Time Limit on Editing of Thread Title changed from 5 to 10 mins.
  23. Maximum Poll Options set to 45 from 10.
  24. Tag minimum limit set to 3. Max set to 10. OP can add 2 tags while users can add 1 tag.
  25. Checked the spam management settings, we require a commercial API key.

    Hmm, On the original BBS, the title was community, not TOTSE. And PM's will swamp the DB full of crap. Who is going to even get over 200 PM's. Its a little wierd to have a forum for porn though. The tread idea was nice.

    Actually the problem is we're trying to get some Google rank. Zoklet uses Zoklet.net and other sites use their names. Using TOTSE gets us better results on Google.

    The PM thing was temporary, I would marginally reduce them anyway. Btw My Pm box maxed out two times already lol.

    Check your PM, I found something we should install ASAP.

    • Forum Jump Menu Disabled.
    • Search Interval increased to 30 secs
    • Search Freature removed for users Unregistered or not logged in.
    • Attachment Feature Removed

    Visitors could search this site without Intervals. In other words someone could fuck us by searching the forums.

    Again, these changes are here to prevent from this site going down again, until we fix the issues or upgrade to a better hosting solution.

    • New Site Developers forum added. Currently Mods/Admins/Super Mods can see it. New users will be allowed access to it. The forum will remain hidden because it deals with site information which we really don't want to go public :).
    • Infraction forum has been moved out of the M&A as a subforum of Help & Suggestions and Regular users will have access to it. ONLY REGULAR users can view it [except for mods or higher].
    • New Mods added.
    • A New Sub-forum will planned to be added in Arts and Design. The forum will be called Photography and We might add a second sub forum for videos [directing,filming etc[. But Photography forum is required.
    • New user group is created called Developers. Users in that group can access the Developer forum. The users will have same Regular user title and they're almost exactly the same as regulars.

    Super Moderators are now called Global Moderators.
    Marketing Forum has a mod and it no longer shows in the New Post page.

    A lot happened. A complete log of it would be really hard but in the end, we switched completely.

    But I will mention that one issue has been resolved. The old linking issue is now fixed, this mean all totse.info links now actually work.

    Holy fucking crap Dfg, good job on this! You know it's been bugging the crap out of me for months, expect to see a lot of additional hits from all the backlinking we did :D

    I didn't do anything, VB 4.2 fixed it for me. :D
