I understand there might be 'complications' getting them in/out the country but as said in title - willing to pay well.

I'm pretty sure with some paper work you can buy a shotgun or rifle in the UK. Just do that and get a 12 gauge then saw it off. Now you have a good self defense gun. If you can't do that then build a zip gun. You can even convert some pellet guns to a .22 rifle. I'm sure any of these ideas will be easier then trying to get a gun shipped to you by someone on totse.
