Even if you cant get phonelines all the way to your property you might be able to set up a wireless link from somewhere with a internet connection, maybe pay someone closer to civilisation a little to install a tower with a directional antenna. (or just mount it at a high building) This ofc will only work if you have line…
Interesting, i did basicly the same thing to my little patch of garden that i will use for peppers. 3 of those collars from wood pallets, should be enough for 18 or so pepper plants.
I have used that program before, most of it is just recorded clips that are months or even years old in some cases... Tried to find a news channel but none of the ones i found were live streams. Is ok for other programs tho, quality is a little crappy but so is youtube most of the time. Also interesting is the huge…
And anyone that knows they have HIV/Aids that spread it to their partner should be charged with manslaughter. Anyone that have HIV/Aids and have unprotected sex should be charged with "endangering the public" or something like it. Anyone that have HIV/Aids and do not tell their sexual partner about it before having sex…
I would laugh my ass of if the north koreans decided to launch a nuke only to have the missile detonate on launch and covering their country in radioactive debris.
Should have got one made of high carbon steel  [ame="http://www.amazon.com/Ontario-Knife-5-Piece-Hickory-705/dp/B000M2R6C6/ref=sr_1_1?s=home-garden&ie=UTF8&qid=1305549470&sr=1-1"]Amazon.com: Ontario Knife Co. 5-Piece Old Hickory Knife Set 705: Home &…
That is my winter gear, in the summer i would leave the axe, just bring the poncho and one wool blanket. The way i see it not much need to splitt logs for firewood in the summer, so a big knife will be enough. Water around here is safe after boiling, but i have a survival straw type filter just in case.
If i was preparing just for myself i would just go with the basics: *A good axe. (Probably the one in the garage, used by my greatgrandfather, my grandfather and my father before me.) *Heavy strong knife for chopping. (10in Bowie) *Smaller knife for skinning and other delicate tasks. (Becker BK11) *Multitool/swiss army…
Hunting, fishing and general food gathering. Someone gotta bring home teh bacon... Also some limited knowledge of plant growing and basic blacksmithing and construction.
1. Ownership of the cannary islands. Would make for a nice summer home, and a great base for raids into Africa. 2. A fleet of ships, everything from cargoships and tankers to destroyers, cruisers and maybe an aircraft carrier to be used for hunting pirates of the coast of africa. Also a sailship for recreational use. 3.…
I usualy make a noodle soup, it can be done with those 2 minute ramen noodles but will be much better if you buy your noodles from a asian food shop. 2 packets of noodles. (throw away the flavouring packets) 1l of water. 1 vegetable bouillon cube. 1 teaspoon of red curry paste. 1 teaspoon of green curry paste. 1 teaspoon…
Chili vodka! :D Cut up a few habaneros or other chilies to your taste and place in a glass jar. Fill with vodka and seal the jar, leave the chilies in for 24-72 hours. If it gets too hot just mix it out with more vodka or use it in drinks. Best used mixed with limejuice or as shots server straight from the freezer.
True, but they could also carry a bomb belt on a timer just in case they get killed/injured or otherwise disabled... Oh well, not like im complaining that they are bad at what they do lol.
Remember, no russian! [/paranoid mw2 player] I wonder why these nutjobs dont just use automatic weapons to gun down everything that moves. Could probably get a higher bodycount that way. But then again terrorists dont seem to be the smartest people around most of the time...
lol, if this makes the news its gonna be epic... You people that have posted flyers, keep a look out on the websites of local newspapers for reactions. And ofc link to it if there is any mention.
Yeah, i remember that one. Think i still have it on a harddrive somewhere. Was an ok series, i thought the acting was kinda off sometimes but not so bad it ruined the entertainment value. And on the subject of Lisa Sheridan () anyone remember Freakylinks? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FreakyLinks Hm maybe i should…
New knife! Hoffman Harpoon XL made by TOPS Made from a 1/4" piece of 1095, 3 1/4" blade. Comes with a Lansky sharpener and a magnesium/feroceum rod firesteel and a P-38 can opener. The sheath holds the knife very secure, but im guessing it will start to wear quickly. The long handle and blade heavy balance makes it great…
I agree that for the price its a very good knife, if i ever needed a knife to hang on my LBE in a SHTF situation i would take the glock over a USMC kabar easily. In a "combat survival" situation it have every feature i would be looking for: Light weight Strong tip, for stabbing and prying Good secure sheath Tough piece of…
I think the only thing i ever seen the steel described as is "Spring steel hardened to 54HRc" (was some time ago, i may not remember it 100% right) Meaning it could be any one of a number of high carbon steels, probably something like 5160. It makes for a very tough blade, but not one that will hold an edge very good. That…
I only carry my backpack when im going further away from home then i can easily walk home in a few hours... If im just going into town i only bring what i have in my pockets.
Right front pocket: Keyring with keys, solingen swiss army style knife and a 1W LED flashlight Byrd Cara Cara folding knife Lighter Left front pocket: Pen Permanent marker Phone Back pocket: Wallet Mini Maglite with LED upgrade Left cargo pocket: Spare batteries, 3 AAA and 4 AA batteries Cheap no-name LED flashlight…
A very good idea, but i would not carry a mora as my primary knife. When out in the bush i carry one as a backup, and to do simpler taskt like wood carving and food preparation. (i would also recomend using a dedicated knife for food preparation, any cheap one will probably work ok) Most of them are not full tang so i…
Wich of those knives in this thread would you rate as "combat" knives? Sure the USMC is called a fighting knife but will do utillity work just as good, same for the SRK. The BK9 is also called a "combat" knife, dont know what for. It will probably work just as good as any machete for wood work. On the other hand 9 inch…
I can understand that, there are some good rust resistant steels out there so should be no problem to find something that works well for you. Like fanglekai previously posted 440C or s30v should be perfect, low mantainance and very good toughness. Also i second the multitool, a good lower end multitool (But still a good…
Hm... I should have bought those NBC protective suits when i had the chance. Oh well, the swedish army used raingear and garbage bags as protective suits untill the 90s, i should be able to McGywer someting better than that for a low price.
I would recomend a Becker BK11 made by KaBar, i have the older version made by Camillus and love it. BK11 Becker Necker 3in something blade, whole knife is made from a single piece of 1095 carbon steel so will take lots of abuse without breaking. Battoning thru wood is no problem at all, only the blade lenght limits how…
